WWI BEACONS OF LIGHT - 11th NOVEMBER 2018

In commemoration and remembrance of the end of World War One and the many millions who were killed or came home dreadfully wounded, 1,000 Beacons of Light will be lit at 7pm on 11th November 2018 throughout the United Kingdom - a century after the guns fell silent. The Beacons will symbolise the 'light of hope' that emerged from the darkness of war.

Crowborough is involved in the WWI Beacons of Light commemoration.  We will be holding a "Lighting of the Beacon" service at Goldsmiths Recreation Ground, Eridge Road, Crowborough on Sunday 11th November 2018 commencing at 6:40pm. More details about this service can be found here

Unregistered Rights of Way - Can You Help?

Do you know of any unregistered rights of way (footpaths, 'cut-throughs', alleys or bridleways) in or around Crowborough? Following the introduction of The Deregulation Act 2015 there is now a cut-off date by which all such paths must be registered, or face being lost. In particular, this concerns any rights of way that existed pre-1949 and are therefore not on any council maps, or any more recent cut-throughs or 'muddy paths'.

If you know of any such unregistered rights of way that you believe should be registered, please contact the Town Hall on (01892) 652907 or info@crowboroughtowncouncil.gov.uk , providing the location and any other details you may have. Thank you for your help!
