Allotments and Cemeteries Committee
The Allotments and Cemeteries Committee is responsible for:
- Monitoring the implications of allotment and cemetery items within the Council’s forward planning documents and make recommendations for revisions if required.
- Managing and maintaining the cemetery, chapel and garden of remembrance. To manage the land and develop a cemetery at Summersales.
- Managing the Council’s allotments.
- Leases/agreements for users of allotments conduct an annual review of fees for the cemeteries.
- Supporting the proposals in the town’s Visioning Document.

Members of the public are welcome to attend a committee meeting and there will be fifteen minutes at the start of each meeting designated for public participation.
Members of the public are welcome to remain for the rest of the meeting unless their presence is deemed prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted or for other special reasons. In these cases the Committee shall make a Resolution which will exclude the public from part or all of a meeting.
All minutes are considered to be draft minutes until they are formally adopted by the committee at the following meeting. Once adopted by the committee they are signed by the Chairman; the copies available on the website do not contain the Chairman’s signature, however, should you wish to view the signed minutes, please call the Council Offices on 01892 652907 and they will be made available for you.
