TOWN CLERK – Caroline Miles
Overall management of the running of the Town Council’s business
Guides the Town Council on policy, legal and procedural issues
Manages Town Council staff and external contractors
Responsible for agendas and minutes for meetings of the Council and its committees, and for the preparation of reports
Working Hours: Full time - Monday to Friday
ASSISTANT TOWN CLERK – Melanie Street
To support the Town Clerk in the running of the Town Council's business
To manage the Council's cemeteries
To manage the Council's allotment sites
Working Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 9am-5pm
RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER – Karen Whiley
Responsible for ensuring that the Council complies with current financial legislation
Responsible for the preparation of the Budget and the Precept request
Keeps the Council’s accounts and prepares records for audit and VAT purposes
Working Hours: 2 days per week (days vary)
OPERATIONS MANAGER – Peter Cunnington
Responsible for the operational management of the council’s buildings, recreation grounds, allotments, cemeteries and other open spaces
Responsible for the management of the external workforce
Responsible for planned maintenance work for all the council premises. To respond to urgent issues involving council premises
Responsible for health and safety inspections and annual servicing of equipment and ensuring all statutory elements of health and safety are complied with.
Responsible for ensuring the council’s vehicles, plant, yard and equipment are kept in good working condition
Working Hours: Full time – Monday to Friday
FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR – Zoe-Marie Rabson-Alves
Daily administration of the Council’s finances; administration of supplier’s invoices, processing the bacs for payment, raising invoices, entering receipts, bank reconciliation.
Working Hours: Wednesday and Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-4:30pm
CUSTOMER SERVICES OFFICER – Claire Campbell
Deals with the daily running of the Council Offices reception and all general enquiries.
Responsible for the Tourist Information at the Council Offices.

Administration of the Whitehill Centre
Working Hours: Wednesdays and Thursdays 9am-5pm, Fridays 9am-4.30pm
CUSTOMER SERVICES ASSISTANT – Zoe-Marie Rabson-Alves
Deals with the daily running of the Council Offices reception and all general enquiries
Responsible for the Tourist Information at the Council Offices.

Organises and coordinates the council's events

RANGER – Clive Lunny
Prepares Management Plans for the Council’s nature reserves
Daily management and maintenance of the Council’s nature reserves
Works with volunteers and local groups/organisations for the conservation of natural sites
Working Hours: Monday - Thursday.
MINUTE-TAKING ADMINISTRATOR – Tracie White
To produce agendas for Environment and Planning & Development Committees.
To attend Environment and Planning & Development Committee meetings and produce minutes of the meetings.
To maintain the Council's Schedule of Resolutions
Working Hours: Monday and Tuesday 9.30am to 1.00pm
Wednesday 9:30am to 5pm
FACILITIES OFFICER – Lisa Gibson
Deals with the upkeep of the council’s premises and equipment.
Organises planned and impromptu maintenance of council premises and equipment.
Provides administrative support to the Operations Manager.
Working Hours - Full Time - Monday - Friday
COMMUNITY WARDEN – Chris Harrison
Patrols the town to provide visible and reassuring presence to deter crime and anti-social behaviour
Engages with the community and local groups to promote social inclusion and reduce the fear of crime
Works in partnership with Sussex Police where appropriate or when required
Working Hours: Full time. Hours vary.
In addition, the Council also employs:
HEAD GROUNDS PERSON - who manages/leads the grounds team on a daily basis.
GROUND STAFF – who carry out the daily operations tasks around the town and keep the Council’s grounds looking fantastic
ENVIRONMENT WARDEN – who helps to keep the town clean and litter-free
CARETAKER – who takes care of some council buildings
