Community Grants

Crowborough Town Council welcomes and values the work of local voluntary groups and organisations. The Council has a policy for making grants to groups and organisations which contribute to the welfare of the community by improving or supporting activities and/or facilities. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a clear need for financial support. Deadlines for submission are included in the Grant Awarding Policy document.

Crowborough Community Association Replacement of old fluorescent and associated outdated lighting with LED light fittings reducing energy costs and carbon reduction £2000.00
Crowborough District Friends of Guiding They have been forced to close off the Brownies end of the hall as squirrels have damaged it and are nesting in the roof therefore they would like to repair the roof inside and out and remove the trees that have caused the problem £1500.00
RVS Darby and Joan Club Funding to contribute towards hall hire, monthly entertainment, coach hire, Christmas lunch and gift for 64 elderley local residents. £1500.00
The Society of Friends of Montargis Funding to help subsidize the organisation with entertainment and expenses regarding the twinning £750.00
Wealden Citizens Advice Bureau Ongoing support for strategic services £21,500.00

COVID GRANTS AWARDED 20/21

VOLUNTARY GROUP/ORGANISATION PURPOSE OF GRANT AMOUNT AWARDED
Beacon Swimming Club Club income impacted – unable to run Easter/summer camps or club championships; unable to offer swim coaching; had to charge members reduced membership fee. Club will need to recommence pool hire when facilities re-open. £500.00
Crowborough Community Association Grant to help with making the Community Centre Covid-secure (i.e.hand sanitation facilities/products, safe hand drying facilities for toilets, additional cleaning products, signage and additional waste disposal facilities) £500.00
Crowborough Cricket Club Club income impacted – not taken any membership fees for current season; no income from match fees; no income from bar sales; no sponsorship for current season. Equipment maintenance costs still remain. £500.00
Crowborough Wolfe Bowling Club Club income impacted – subscription reduced by half. Costs for rent of club, fuel for machinery, equipment maintenance/refurbishment costs, water charges and removal of green waste charges still remain. £500.00
