Facilities for Hire

Crowborough Town Council have open spaces, sports areas and a venue which are available to hire.  For more information and to book, click here:

Crowborough Town Council owns a number of poster boards throughout the town. When the boards are not being used by the Town Council they are available for hire by local groups and organisations. So why not think about this cost-effective way of advertising for your club or society’s next event?

Hire charges for the poster boards are reviewed annually by the Council. Charges for the period 1st April 2024-31st March 2025 are as follows:

A1 size boards – £8.40 (inc. VAT) per board, per week

Extra-large boards – £15.60 (inc. VAT) per board, per week

PLEASE NOTE: the boards are for non-commercial use only.

There are fourteen boards which can accommodate A1 size posters. These are positioned at the following locations:

  • Alderbrook Playing Field (outside)
  • Chapel Green
  • Clokes Corner
  • Elim Court Gardens
  • Ghyll Road
  • Goldsmiths Leisure Centre Entrance (right hand side)
  • Harecombe Road/Whitehill Road
  • Jarvis Brook Car Park (outside)
  • Jarvis Brook Memorial Hall (outside)
  • Jarvis Brook Railway Station
  • Montargis Way/Crowborough Hill
  • Piazza (town centre)
  • Pine Grove
  • Queens Road/Whitehill Road

In addition there are two extra-large boards which can accommodate posters up to 164cms high and 84cms wide. They are positioned on the A26 at either end of the town as follows:

Whitehill Centre inside Whitehill Centre

Are you looking for somewhere to hold a child’s birthday party? Or perhaps you run fitness or other classes and are looking for a new venue? Why not try the Whitehill Centre?

Situated on Whitehill Road (TN6 1NT) the Whitehill Centre was refreshed only a couple of years ago and now boasts a new floor and other facilities. This popular, spacious hall is much used by weekly dance, yoga and other fitness classes. It is also available for private hire and childrens parties (up to ten years of age).

The hall has toilet facilities and some kitchen facilities; please note there is no oven and therefore it is not possible to cook hot food for parties. The hall is also subject to a covenant which does not allow alcohol to be served/sold on the premises.

Charges for the hall are reviewed annually by the Council.

Charges for the period 1st April 2024-31st March 2025 are:

One-Off Booking – £26.50 plus VAT per hour

Regular Bookings – £18.50 plus VAT per hour (the definition of a regular user is a minimum of ten bookings within a consecutive thirteen week period).

Please note:

  • We do not allow the use of inflatables/bouncy castles in the centre
  • Any electrical equipment used during a booking must be PAT tested

Crowborough Town Council own and maintain a range of sports pitches within the town, both grass and hard surfaced.  These are suitable for hire for football, netball or basketball matches as well as other outdoor activities.  There is also a changing room facility for hire at Goldsmiths recreation ground.

Please note the running track at Goldsmiths recreation ground is not for exclusive use and therefore cannot be booked.

Sports areas available to hire are:

  • Wolfe Recreation Ground

  • Goldsmiths Recreation Ground

  • MOD, Beacon Road football pitch

When not being used by Crowborough Town Council, we offer some of the open spaces in the town to local groups and organisations to hire.

Spaces available to hire are:

  • Chapel Green – Chapel Green is only available for hire at weekends during school term time and may only be used for non-commercial activities & events
  • Jarvis Brook Recreation Ground
  • Eridge Field, Goldsmiths Recreation Ground – Please be aware that the hire of Eridge Field for events is only permissible during June, August & September, subject to a maximum of one event per month

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to supply a copy of your current Public Liability Insurance and Event Risk Assessment with your booking. Insufficient insurance and an inadequate risk assessment will result in the booking being refused.
