Parks & Open Spaces

You are never far away from a park or green space here in Crowborough. Whether you’re looking to take a quiet stroll, some outdoor fitness, walk your dog, take your children to a play park or just find a place to observe nature and enjoy some quiet reflection.

If your dog joins you in our parks and open spaces, please make sure that you pick up after them so that the areas remain clean and safe.  There is a map of dog bins  here for your information.  Please note that dogs are not allowed at Wolfe Recreation Ground.

Adams Field


Location:  At the end of Adam Close, Crowborough TN6 3DT

Description: A small recreation ground within a residential area

Facilities:  Play park, picnic area and multi-use games area (basketball/football/netball)

Alderbrook Playing Fields


Location:  Off Fermor Road and Aldervale Cottages, Crowborough TN6 3BS

Description: A number of football pitches situated within a residential area

Facilities: Football pitches

PLEASE NOTE THE CAR PARK IS LOCKED at 4.15pm (1st Oct – 31st March) and 8.30pm (1st April – 30th Sept)

Bluebell Wood 


Location:  Town Centre, adjacent to Croft Road Car Park, TN6 1DL

Description: Nature Reserve, this hidden gem is to be found right in the middle of the town

Facilities: Woodland walks and benches

Canada Green


Location:  Off Church Road, Crowborough TN6 1ED

Description: A memorial garden dedicated to the Canadian soldiers shot down over Crowborough in World War II

Facilities: Memorial garden, benches for peaceful reflection.

Chapel Green


Location: Off Church Road, Crowborough TN6 1ED

Description: Chapel Green is a Traditional Village Green for residents to enjoy.

There is also a War Memorial to the side of Chapel Green where Crowborough commemorates Crowborough residents who have lost their lives in conflict. The War Memorial Policy below gives more information regarding those commemorated on the Memorial.

Crowborough Country Park


Location:  Off Osborne Road, Crowborough TN6 2HN

Description: An 18 acre nature reserve which started life as a clay quarry and evidence of its industrial past can still be seen in the exposed rock faces.

The main stream runs through a steep rocky gorge before flowing through areas of ancient hazel and ash coppice. The environment provides a home for a wide variety of flora and fauna and there is also a carpet of bluebells in the spring,

Facilities: Woodland walks, picnic area, ponds, car park.

Goldsmiths Recreation Ground


Location: A26 Eridge Road, Crowborough, TN6 2TN

Description: A popular, spacious recreation ground with numerous facilities and fabulous views across the valley; also adjacent to the town’s leisure centre

Facilities: Café, toilets, play park, football pitches, athletics track, skate park, netball/basketball courts, petanque piste, boating lake, miniature railway, outdoor fitness equipment, open space, car park

Jarvis Brook Recreation Ground


Location: Off Crowborough Hill, Crowborough, TN6 2EG

Description: An area of open space and play facilities within Jarvis Brook

Facilities:  Play park, skate park, outdoor fitness equipment, car park and multi-use games area (basketball/football/netball)

Lime Kiln Playing Fields


Location: Off Palesgate Lane, Crowborough, TN6 3HF

Description: Football pitches adjacent to The Ghyll nature reserve

Facilities: Football pitches

MOD Football Pitch


Location: A26 Beacon Road, Crowborough, TN6 3SU

Description: A single football pitch adjacent to the A26

Palesgate Lane Meadows


Location: Off Palesgate Lane, Crowborough, TN6 3HF

Description: A small, meadow area bordering The Ghyll nature reserve

Facilities: Meadow walks, valley views, benches

Pocket Park


Location: access on foot via Chequers Way or Chequers Close Footpath or Poundfield Path

Description: a small nature reserve re-wilded on the old Beacon School tennis courts and surrounding area

Facilities: small circular walk, pond with dipping platform

Silver Jubilee Recreation Ground


Location: Off Green Lane, Crowborough, TN6 2DY

Description: A small recreation ground and open space, leading into The Ghyll nature reserve

Facilities: Play park, open space, car park

Location: Off either Silver Jubilee Recreation Ground, or Burdett Road, Crowborough, TN6 2EG

Description: Nature Reserve

Facilities: Woodland walks, natural streams, car park

Wolfe Recreation Ground


Location:  Off Blackness Road, Crowborough, TN6 2NA

Description: A small, popular recreation ground situated in a residential area

Facilities: Play park, tennis courts (no charge), football pitches, part-time refreshments kiosk, car park, multi-use games area (basketball/football/netball)
